Job Description

Average 30 hour contract across 4 days.

This is a fantastic opportunity for either someone looking to start a career in the Kitchen, or someone looking to develop their current skill set by working along side an experienced Head Chef.

The Sunflower café is a busy, fast-paced working environment that prepares breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.

We are looking for someone with a good work ethic, great attitude and willingness to learn. We offer a great opportunity to progress within the kitchen brigade as well as food safety qualifications and other relevant training under our Head Chef.

Duties:

  • Prepare and serve food alongside senior chefs, achieving the quality and presentation as per standards.
  • Prepare and maintain your designated section of the kitchen whilst being willing to help others in their sections.
  • Basic delivery duties – movement of heavy loads, recycling, organising fridge and store areas
  • Effective communication with colleagues to ensure as organised a workplace as possible

Capabilities:

  • Basic knife skills and preparation techniques
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks
  • An interest in food and willingness to learn
  • Willingness to follow tasks and requests from senior chefs
  • Enjoy working alongside colleagues and also on your own when needed.
  • To comply with all food hygiene, Health and Safety at work, COSHH, and Manual Handling regulations (Full training will be provided)

Pay rate advertised valid for ages 21 plus, from April 1st. Competitive rates for ages 18-20.

Job Types: Permanent

Part-time hours: 30 per week
